YouTube Scraper

Get YouTube Transcript

Retrieves publicly available captions, subtitles, or transcripts from a YouTube video or Short. Returns both a timestamped transcript array with start/end times and a plain-text version in transcript_only_text. Supports specifying a language code. Videos of any length are supported when YouTube exposes public captions. This endpoint does not use AI transcription. If no matching caption track is available, the transcript fields return null.

Parameters

YouTube video or short URL

languagestring · optionalstringoptional

Language code, ie 'en', 'es', 'fr' or 'en-US'. Overrides the default track selection unless original_audio=true. If omitted, prefers captions matching the original spoken language when YouTube identifies the original audio. If that metadata is unavailable or ambiguous, prefers an auto-generated caption, otherwise the first caption track.

One of: fr, en-US

cache_max_agestring · optionalstringoptional

See the Caching page for details.

One of: 1d, 3d, 7d, 14d, 30d

How to use this tool

  1. Connect your AI

Add Connie to ChatGPT, Claude or Slack once, and this tool comes with it. There’s no API key or account to set up.

  2. Ask for the outcome

Describe what you need in plain words. Your AI runs this tool when the job calls for it, along with any others it needs.

  3. Make it a workflow

Add it as a step in a workflow that runs the same way every time, on a schedule or when something happens.

  4. Stay in control

Choose whether it runs on its own or asks first. When it asks, you see an Allow or Deny card before any credits are spent.
